Morocco actually shaded possession (52% to 48%), and both sides moved the ball wide in similar volume — but France's central channel, barely a fifth of their attacking output, produced 2.86 expected goals and 15 shots on its own, dwarfing anything either side managed out wide. The breakthrough came in the 60th minute, Kylian Mbappé finishing off a Désiré Doué pass, and France doubled it six minutes later through Ousmane Dembélé.
